The Kent is originally from Florida and therefore is sometimes confused with the somewhat similar looking Keitt mango, the difference being that it ripens earlier (as early as March).
Characteristics of The Kent
- Shape: Oval with a rounded base and often with two beaks
- Color: Greenish yellow pigmentation with a red or crimson tint
- Skin: Thick and hard with many small yellow lenticels
- Mouth: The flesh is juicy, dark yellow, tender, fiberless and with a rich flavor.
